Bishop László Tőkés, president of the Hungarian National Council of Transylvania was an outspoken critic of atheist communism, which actually led to the revolution that overthrew inhuman dictatorship in Romania, in 1989. Since then he has been appreciated by the Transylvanian Hungarian community as consequent campaigner for democratic changes and just demands for selfgovernment.
